According to a GlobalWebIndex survey of 170,000 adult internet users across 32 markets, 80% of online adults own a smartphone while only 9% and 7% report having a smartwatch or smart wristband, respectively.  The proportion of smartphone ownership has reached a new high, but it has not yet overtaken legacy ownership and usage of PCs, which is currently at 91% of all online adults.  This should continue to drive the way employers, health plans, and communities think about engagement and consumerism – rich mobile experiences will be king.
